The arrangement has a light source, a light modulator with independently controllable pixels, projection optics for projecting pixels onto a projection surface and a control unit for the pixels, light modulator and optics that causes pixels to be projected onto the surface with gaps between them in one projection state and into the gaps in a second state in which pixels are driven using data derived from the image point data of the first state. The arrangement has a light source (1), a light modulator (3) with a field of independently controllable pixels subjected to light from the source, projection optics (4), for projecting the pixels onto a projection surface (8) and a control unit (5) for controlling the pixels, light modulator and optics. The control unit causes pixels to be projected onto the surface with gaps between them in one projection state and into the gaps in a second state in which the pixels are driven using data derived from the image point data of the first state.
