The parking position lock (1) for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle has a pivot-mounted locking pawl (7) with its free end (8) guided in a guide plate (10) connected to the gearbox and which forms a stop for the pivoting movement of the pawl when releasing the lock. The parts of the parking position lock connected to the gearbox, namely the locking pawl, pivot pin (6) for the locking pawl and/or the guide plate are acoustically decoupled by the interposing of springs and/or damping devices in the power flux.
