The bonnet structure has an outer cover layer, and inward- facing lower structure, and an energy-absorbent intermediate layer. The lower structure (4) has local rated braking points (7). The cover layer (2) is of laminated fiber material, plastic and/or metal, and the lower structure is of similar material. The energy-absorbent layer (3) is of metal and/or plastic, and may have a foam, honeycomb, and/or ribbed structure. The braking points are formed by altered fiber structures (7') or reduced cross sections (7'').
