Liquid antifreeze (A) for use as windscreen cleaner for vehicles comprises at least one volatile organic compound (I) at concentration 5-60wt.%, depending on the freezing point of (A), and contains 0.5-80wt.% of a glycol (II). Liquid antifreeze (A) for use as windscreen cleaner for vehicles comprises at least one volatile organic compound (I) selected from a list of over 80 compounds (including some mixtures). The concentration of (I) is between 5wt.% for an (A) with freezing point -5[deg]C or lower and 60wt.% for one with freezing point -45[deg]C or lower, with the relationship between intermediate values of maximum (I) concentration and freezing point being defined by a straight line, reproduced in a figure. (A) contains 0.5-80wt.% of a glycol (II). An independent claim is also included for a method for preparing (A).
