Arrangement for repeatable implementation of a mechanical impact comprises a lever (B) that is driven by a stepper motor (A) between a storage position and an impacting position. The motor controls the lever so that the desired linear speed of a pin (D) is reached prior to impact. The lever is precisely held horizontally by an electric controller and mechanically by beam (C). The pin, impact mass (E) and impact tip (F) impact a test object with the desired speed. After an adjustable time the lever is returned to its storage position. The arrangement can be attached to a stator with a precise height adjustment so that the impact depth can be used as a parameter.
