Converting carbon containing energy medium to electricity without gaseous carbon dioxide emissions involves burning 2 fuel sub-flows in separate pressure combustion and energy transfer systems
The method involves burning the medium and converting the heat released into electrical energy in a gas and steam turbine process with separation of an exhaust gas flow for concentration, compression and liquefying of carbon dioxide. Two fuel sub-flows with only approximately equal energy content are burnt in separate pressure combustion and energy transfer reactors (1,2) operated at different pressures using only oxygen from air separation systems.
