Sensors, for monitoring the production of paper/cardboard webs, are given an on-line calibration, using laboratory measurement data which generate calibration software to correct sensor measurements

For the calibration of sensors (2), which monitor the production of a fiber web, laboratory measurements (4) are taken and a calibration software is produced after each, to be used to correct the on-line measurements (1) from the sensors. It gives an on-line calibration (6), together with process information data (9) on the fiber material composition and the pulp gas content, etc. The correction is through a multivariate regression e.g. partial least square regression, principle component analysis, ordinary multivariate regression.
