Controlling loaded engine run-up involves reducing converter internal pressure to cause cavitation, raising pressure to normal value again on reaching speed for charging pressure for full load speed
The method involves reducing the converter pressure after starting the engine, selecting first gear at idling speed and loading the engine in full load direction to cause cavitation in the converter so the converter characteristic is shifted to a lower pump take-up torque, then raising the pressure to normal again on reaching the revolution rate at which adequate charging pressure has built up to approximately reach full load revolution rate. The method involves reducing the internal pressure of the converter, after starting the engine and selecting first gear at idling speed and loading the engine in the full load direction, to a pressure at which the desired cavitation occurs in the converter, so that in this state the converter characteristic is shifted to a lower pump take-up torque, and raising the converter internal pressure to the normal value again on reaching the revolution rate at which adequate charging pressure has built up to approximately reach full load revolution rate.
