Economically- and ecologically-favorable peatification of variety of sludges to give dry peat involves feeding and withdrawing liquid in peatification bed

Conversion of a sludge to dry peat involves: (a) the introducing the sludge into a peatification bed; (b) removing liquid from the bed; (c) introducing liquid into the bed; (d) interrupting the liquid introduction after a predetermined period; and (e) drying the contents of the bed to yield dry peat. An Independent claim is also included for apparatus for the peatification comprising a peatification bed together with inlets and outlets for liquid.
