Automobile headlamp using LED module with asymmetric LED chip array for providing headlamp beam with asymmetric light distribution

The headlamp has an asymmetric array (5) of LED chips (1) supported by a common carrier, combined with an optical element (2), acting as a common collector lens with the LED chips positioned in its focal plane, for providing a LED module (3). The asymmetrical array is obtained by omission of LED chips from a symmetrical array.
