Energy-efficient, two-step process for production of hydrogen fuel gas. Energy-efficient, two-step process for production of hydrogen fuel gas (designated the Hamburg method) comprises: (1) chemical reaction of sodium with water to produce sodium hydroxide and hydrogen, which is released, and (2) electrolysis of the NaOH solution to form sodium and hydroxy, forming a detonating gas mixture that is released and used for current generation, from the chemical reaction of two hydroxy to water and an oxygen atom.
