Locking unit (1), especially for locking roller, hinged or sliding doors and or gates. The locking unit has a lock bar drive (2) for moving a lock bar (3) between opened (P1) and closed (P2) positions. In the closed position the bar meshes in a lug (4) or similar. The locking unit has a measurement device for detecting a force (F) acting on the lock bar so that attempts to force or break the locking unit can be detected. An Independent claim is made for a locking system especially for locking roller, hinged or sliding doors and or gates with a force measurement device for each of a number of locking units, with the units linked together by a mechanical or radio link.
