A portable hand-held enclosure (102) encloses the signal processor having computer program which produces auditory test selected from specific group. A display device operatively coupled to processor, displays the results of selected test in real time. A connection point for probe on enclosure, is coupled to processor which is operated by power supply. The computer program operated based on command from user, is selected from group having otoacoustic emission (OAE) test procedure, auditory brainstem response (ABR) test procedure, tympanometry, otoreflectance and their combination for test subject. Electrodes (104) collecting data from patient, is operatively coupled to processor. An independent claim is also included for method of conducting OAE audio test.
