The load lifting device for an industrial truck with a fork carrier (2) has transversely movable fork prongs (3) interacting with a locking device which has means for the bracing of the fork prongs against the fork carrier. The pretensioning created by the bracing means is effective in the load direction of the fork prongs. The locking device has a clamping lever equipped with an eccentric and pivotably fastened in the region of an upper guide rail section of the fork carrier.
