The chamber can be a gas tight tent (5) erected in a museum and equipped with a heater (2), a moistening device (3), and a dehumidifier (4) in order to provide the appropriate conditions required by the particular work of art (1). The chamber (5) is filled with nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or argon suitable for killing the insects attacking and destroying the objects (1). A second layer (7), reinforced with laths (6), is positioned around the tent (5) at a distance, protecting the inner space of the tent (5) from condensation.
