The needle (3) is fastened directly to the body (4) of the piston The needle is fitted coaxially to the piston. Several needles are included, each connected to the piston of a fluid- (includes air or gas) operated cylinder unit, to slide the needle from an operation position to a resting position, or vice versa. The cylinder unit is constructed in the main body (2). Flow and return channels of the piston cylinder unit are elaborated. The cylinders are arranged around the main body axis, inclined with respect to it, diverging from it, and spaced at angles around it. The design is further detailed. The piston stroke is 5-15 mm. A mold or connecting tool employing the gripper, is also claimed for planar materials e.g. fabrics, fleeces, felts, cotton wool or rubber foam.
