Workpiece holders (21,22) are displaced in parallel along corresponding workpiece feed guides (71,72). Grinding tools (1V,1F) move to and fro with respect to the workpieces (51,52) on each holder via tool setting guides (41,42), and each have grinding disks (31,32) respectively rotated by rotary driving tools (81,82) to grind the workpieces. The first grinding disk (31) serves as the starting disk, while the second disk (32) serves as the finishing disk. An independent claim is also included for a technique in pre-grinding and finishing of camshafts.
