Optimization of automatic gear changes in vehicles with an automatic gearbox and at least an auxiliary load, by use of an auxiliary load power uptake to assist in matching the angular velocities of the gear change elements
A method for improving the change quality of an automatic gearbox with input and output couplings, an engine and at least one auxiliary load, has the following steps: input of a driver wish to change gear; releasing of the current gear; synchronization of the rotation rates of the gear elements to be meshed in the forthcoming gear ratio; whereby the gear elements are selected taking and the angular velocities matched by control of the auxiliary load power uptake. An Independent claim is made for a control device for an automatic gearbox in a drive train comprising an engine, automatic gearbox and auxiliary load.
