In a process to resuscitate unconscious vehicle occupants, a defined active stimulant (2) is administered via the olfactory senses. The active ingredient is discharged from a reservoir (1). An independent claim is included for a commensurate assembly in which delivery of the active ingredient is automatically discharged under the control of a sensor.
