The undercut anchor (10) has a sleeve-form base component, with rear end section in the setting direction multiply slotted over a part of its length, and in the slotted section forms a number of anchoring segments (44) pivotable by an outer side encompassing slot (46). A truncated cone-form tensioning component (28) connected to the base component is installed on the shank (14) of the anchor to move by its tapered end inside the base component between the anchoring segments. A distance sleeve (18) connected to the tensioning component is movable on the shank, and its opposite end is supported on the underside of the fastening head or nut (38).
