Motor vehicle trailer coupling comprises integrally forged plate and coupling ball with radiused transition rim and edges for augmented loadability.
The plate (12) and coupling ball (13) present a one-piece forging and the ball rim is rounded off where it transfers to the plate. At its own edges the plate is secured to the vehicle and here partly reinforced. The plate is drilled out to admit a securement pin (18) and the plate reinforcement is drilled out round the pin hole. Additional components include the coupling (1), sideplates (2) and protective cover (5). The locking lever (14) is also shown as also the vertical guide grooves (8).
