Oligonucleotides (ON) for specific detection of microorganisms, are (i) are any of 30 sequences reproduced; (ii) have at least 80, best 95, % correspondence with (i); (iii) are derived from (i) or (ii) by deletion of, are extension by, one or more nucleotides; or (iv) hybridize under stringent conditions with the complements of (i)-(iii). Independent claims are also included for: (1) combinations of at least two ON; (2) detecting microorganisms by in situhybridization with at least one ON; and (3) kit for performing method (2).
