A method for connection of modules/subassemblies involves logging on a pilot module equipped with a functioning bus-interface (22i) and then programming a non-programmed field-programmable gate circuit (FPGA) on to at least one further module with configuration data held in a store (15) connected to the bus-system (30). The pilot module and an additional bus system (25) are loaded into field-programmable gate circuits (FPGA) via the bus-system (30) to realize a functioning bus-interface (22). The remaining modules/subassemblies are then logged on to the bus-system (30). An independent claim is included for a system for connection of modules/subassemblies to a bus system.
