The laser gun can cut through 20 mm armour, including bullet proof vests and helmets. The power supply for the laser is provided by a rechargeable battery (Akku) attached to the bottom of the gun handle (Griff). Four spare batteries are carried in a waist belt during combat. A single battery enables 5 single blows of 1 s duration each or 1 fan blow of 5 s duration. The batteries can be recharged in the combat vehicle or elsewhere, using a standard connector. Alternatively, the body heat of the soldier, his movement, or solar cells can be used for charging the battery. The gun can be carried on a shoulder strap.
