Inertial digital rotational velocity sensor has two counters the outputs of which are used to determine a difference value from which a value equal to twice the inertial angle of rotation is determined. The sensor difference value is multiplied by a fixed sensor-specific proportionality factor. The inventive sensor makes use of an electronic Sagnac effect.
