The coin slot device either keeps or returns the coins using a power actuated drive (27). The device comprises a coin endless conveyor chain (19) and coin acceptance compartments (18). The coin conveyor chain moves along a predetermined route so that any coins present in the acceptance compartment are either fed to a coin take-away opening or to a coin return opening.
