The harvester has a mower with local discrete detection of the yield of the crop. A belt conveyor for the cut material is placed adjoining the mower and an electronic evaluation and/or memory unit is provided for locally detecting the drive torque detected by the sensor elements and/or the drive power for the belt conveyor. The drive torque and power can be determined by means of at least one pressure sensor in a hydraulic line of the drive for the belt conveyor. An independent claim is included for a method for detecting yield where cut material is passed on a conveyor, with the drive torque and power of the latter being determined and with these position coordinates through an electronic evaluation and/or memory unit the relative yield being determined in relation to location.
