Points or regions of the globe map are selected or marked for computer processing by simply touching, applying pressure or other physical interaction. The globe sphere preferably has an integrated screen (3a), a screen mounted on the globe stand (13), or a separate screen. When a point is marked on the globe, an enlargement is displayed on the screen. Independent claims are included for a device/device unit; an operating unit; a computing unit for handling-programs; and a combination of devices.
