The globe has a ball, which is hollow and translucent, and including upper and lower parts. An illuminating device (22) is mounted on the inner side of the ball. Puzzle parts (30) are attached on an outer surface of the ball such that a world map is formed on the ball. The device emits light that travels through light penetration holes of the puzzle parts to indicate locations of larger cities in the globe.
