The combined vehicle tire and wheel rim assembly has a rim (9) of plastics with carbon or glass fiber reinforcement, stiffened by an emergency-running enclosed inner tire (10). Strips (11,12) of carbon-fiber reinforced plastics are laminated between the tire carcass layers (13,14) of the tire (15), and laminated on to points (16-19) of the rim to fuse with it using an inert gas under a high pressure and temperatures of 130-170[deg]C.
