Method for modifying the driving dynamics of a motor vehicle, in which at least one signal representing the steering angle, transverse acceleration and or the yaw rate is continuously monitored and evaluated. Based on the behavior of the monitored value, one or more roll monitoring counters are modified dependent on the value frequency, gradient or amplitude, and based on the counter state an electronic stability program intervention is modified. The roll monitoring counter maintains a count value that is representative of the vehicle's likelihood of rolling over. If a threshold value is exceeded then the stability control program intervenes in the vehicle control system.
