The accumulator housing (2) is located in a pressurizing medium housing (10) for the interior installation of the accumulator (1). The accumulator housing is formed as a cylindrical cartridge (3) which is open at one side. The cylindrical cartridge is provided with a fastener for mounting to an interior wall (18) of the pressurizing medium housing. An independent claim is also included for the method of increasing operation safety of the accumulator.
