The ear protector (B) is formed from two pieces e.g. of cotton measuring 20 x 15 cm, out of which two ear-shaped pieces measuring approximately 12 x 9 cm are cut. A further piece of textile is then taken, one side of which is water-repellant and the other side, possibly of felt, has a warming effect. From this piece, an ear shape is cut of approximately 7 x 5 cm and laid centrally between the two larger material pieces. The three pieces are then sewn together along the outer periphery of the central piece, with the two outer pieces overhanging. A 13 x 0.2 cm loop (D) is then laid between the two overhanging pieces. The overhanging pieces are then sewn, so that the loop is movable between the first and second means. The residual material of the overhanging pieces is then cut away closely to the second seam.
