One method of generating a dynamic system software model takes a preliminary system software model as an input. Typically, the preliminary software model is based on a system model created by a system designer within a modeling environment. Generally speaking, the preliminary software model does not allow access to the internal variables of the system model from outside the modeling environment, but can nevertheless be executed on a computer platform in the absence of the modeling environment. An interface software is then created that exposes the internal variables of the system model. The resulting software model, made up of both the preliminary software model and the interface software, allows program access to its internal variables and possibly execution control from outside the modeling environment, typically providing a detailed simulation of the system model beyond the capabilities provided by the modeling environment , is improved.
