A safe method for transporting pyrotechnic units, e. g. pyrotechnic units for airbag release, has a number of units secured by a steel wire loop and packed in a conventional pack. In the event of a fire the individual detonations, occurring sequentially, do not have enough force to project the units further than a proscribed safe distance, e. g. 4 Metres. The wire loop is secured using a reusable fastener and can be returned for reuse in a compact package.
