The snare gate (23) has a pair of legs (23B) for supporting a horizontal plate (23A). The side edges of the legs are respectively bent inwardly to form ribs (25), in which each rib has an L-shaped cross-section for reinforcing the legs. The legs are fixed to prescribed positions of a hoop (4), which is fixed to the circumferential ends of the opening of the hollow cylinder (2) of a snare drum.
