Input device has first and second elongated resistances with the same size and shape that extend parallel to each other in the same direction. Each resistance has the same resistance per unit length in the extension direction. A processing unit is provided that detects a conducting state between first and second resistances, dependent on voltage values at voltage determination points on each of the resistance wires. An Independent claim is made for an input method for input of a value based on a conducting value.
