The method involves treating films in a rotating reactor vessel in which the film is drawn to the inner wall by rotation. The rotation rate is matched to the liquid's properties to form a quasi-flow-free and thus homogeneous film with a thickness such that a plasma is generated for treating the film by a suitable structure. The film is continuously regenerated by from a reservoir rotation. The plasma-treated film is exchanged with the reservoir. The method involves treating films in an essentially horizontal rotating reactor vessel in which the film is drawn to the inner wall by the rotation. The rotation rate is matched to the properties of the liquid to form a quasi-flow-free and thus homogeneous liquid film with a film thickness so that a plasma is generated for treating the film by a suitable structure and the film is continuously regenerated by the rotation of the vessel from the liquid reservoir and the plasma-treated film is exchanged with the reservoir. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a reactor for treating liquid films, especially thin liquid films, with plasmas.
