Method for preventative fault detection in electronically controlled objects using means for measuring at least one condition or measurement value. If the condition or measurement value deviates more than a permissible amount within an operating range the control or regulating unit detects a possible error or fault and sets a corresponding operative value to a possible error or fault condition. An independent claim is made for a device for preventative fault detection in electronically controlled objects.
