The insulation element is made from rock or glass wool fibres as insulation panel or the like and comprises two large surfaces spaced from each other and connected by side faces. At least one of the two large surfaces (11) and/or at least one of the side faces has a layer (13) of an adhesive over part or all of its area which can be activated when installed. The adhesive is preferably made from thermosetting plastics and is activated by heat.
