The brake fluid reservoir has a cover (5) which has a rim (50) with a female thread (51) which can be screwed onto the male thread (42) of a collar (41) on the reservoir. The reservoir has a seat (3) which can be screwed to a mounting plate through holes (32), and the reservoir is accommodated with form fitting in a recess (30) in the seat. The reservoir is non-rotatable so that the cover can be easily twisted off from the reservoir so with turning of the cover a spilling of brake fluid.
