The exercise bicycle has an eddy current braking device for opposing the rotation of the bicycle pedals (12), with detection of the pulse rate of the user of the exercise bicycle, e.g. via a headband measuring device (17) and evaluation for determining the heart frequency variation, fed to a control device for regulation of the braking device in dependence on the heart frequency variation or related parameters.
