The pipette needle, to take up and deliver fluids, has a metal tube (11) with an inflow opening at one end and a jet (19) at the outflow end opening. The tube and the jet are in two parts, where the jet is of a mineral or ceramic material, to be inserted into the metal pipette tube at the end side (27). The mineral or ceramic material is a pure or dosed aluminum oxide crystal e.g. sapphire, ruby, or colorless corundum, polycrystalline zirconium oxide, silicon nitride or silicon carbide.
