Compressed air sound damping system has a through-channel (32) with a constant flow cross-section over its whole length. (32) has a smooth inner surface which does not prevent the flow of the compressed air. A sound absorption device (31) is surrounded by a tubular closed reflection wall (38) for reflecting sound waves so that the sound waves of the compressed air are reflected onto (38). Connecting devices are arranged in the longitudinal end of a base module (12) to axially connect an elongated module (13) to (31).
