The lockable cover for a bicycle basket of steel has a cover plate (1) is constructed with at least two lugs (2,3), opposite which is at least one fitting hole for a cylinder lock (4). At least one angle section has a fitting hole for the cylinder lock, whereby the angle section and cover plate are interconnected by the installing of the cylinder lock. The angle section is formed on the cover plate. An independent claim is included for a bicycle basket of steel which has additional openings for the bar of the cylinder lock and designed for the lug on the cover plate.
