A system of adjustable weights for a fitness training tower, or bench, has conventional weights and selector shaft to set the resistance load in standard increments, e.g. 5Kg. The invention describes an additional weight control with a selector lever (30) fitted to first, top weight and with at least three settings; a central null setting and two outer settings in which the lever picks up one of two intermediate weights, e.g. 1.3Kg or 2.6Kg. The user is able to set the resistance load in smaller steps.
