The purpose of this study was to determine if plyometric training independent of weight training increases selected measures of leg strength and power when compared to programs of weight training independent of plyometric training and combination plyometric and weight training in 39 college-aged females at Central Michigan University.;Subjects were divided into four groups (control, combination training, weight training, and plyometric training) and performed different exercise protocols. All subjects were pre- and posttested for strength and power measurements.;The results indicated significance between groups in vertical jump. The Tukey Multiple Range test found that the combination group was significantly better than the weight training group. Within group significant increases were found in each group between pre- and posttests on selected strength and power measurements.
