Transmission installation within railway train, or locomotive, for communication signals between exchange (1) and one or more cable (3) connected associated stations (2) contains signal converters (4.1,2) for coupling exchange and associated stations to cable. Thus analog signals into cable are converted into digitalized signals, while digitalized signals from cable are converted into analog signals. At each signal converter, number of station side inputs and outputs for analog signals is larger than that of cable side inputs and outputs for digital signals.
