The fastening device for insert plates has first (3) and second fastening rails which have undercuts (10,10') on both sides and between which is a longitudinally extending slot opening (9) which for anchoring purposes has on both sides a number of cut out faces (13,13') equally spaced along the principle axis (H) and which widen the slot opening. A locking element with locking protrusions fits into the slot opening and is movable along the principle axis from a first fixed position into a second inserted position.
