A multi function automated cleaning system for large equipment, especially food processing equipment such as transport trolleys for meat products, has a washing chamber (1) with servo driven inlet (1') and outlet (1'') doors to provide a one way through process. The doors are interlinked with the control programme with a sequential operation which only allows one door to be open at a time, or both doors closed for the washing cycle. The cleaning process has movable spray heads operating with cleaning solutions and mounted on a support frame with movement control. The equipment is operated without requiring special protective clothing.
